Slack – Real-Time Collaboration Platform

A full-stack real-time collaboration platform with workspaces, channels, private messaging, subscriptions, and admin controls.

Overview

Built a production-style Slack-like application enabling teams to create workspaces, manage channels, and communicate in real time. Implemented role-based access control, subscription billing, AI-assisted messaging, and a scalable backend with WebSockets and Redis-backed job queues. Designed for performance, responsiveness, and clean system architecture.

Key Achievements

Built real-time messaging system using Socket.io with channel-based event architecture.

Designed workspace and channel management with role-based admin controls.

Implemented JWT cookie-based authentication with email verification and password reset flow.

Integrated Razorpay subscription billing and gated premium AI text generation features.

Used Redis and Bull queue for background jobs including email handling.

Developed responsive UI with dark/light mode and rich-text editor support.
